The current Convent of the Discalced Carmelite Fathers, also known as the National Temple of Saint Teresa of Jesus, is located in a central and prominent location in the city of Madrid.
It should be noted that it has been declared a Site of Cultural Interest, so the intervention only affects the building’s interior and includes the layout of spaces, improved living conditions, renewed finishes, and updated facilities to ensure maximum user comfort.
The program includes new dormitories for the religious residents, located southwest of the existing building so they can be used independently of the rest of the building for daily use. The common areas are concentrated on the ground and third floors, coinciding with the building’s entrances, located on different levels. The remaining floors are used for bedrooms and the respective living and dining areas.
