Carabanchel Residence, Madrid

A project designed to house a Residential Center for Seniors and Assisted Living Apartments with a capacity of 195, as well as a Day Center with a capacity of 30.

It is conceived as a compact building organized into three parallel volumes, which interlock with two others perpendicularly, creating two large interior courtyards connected by the ground-floor porch.

The rooms are distributed over one floor below ground level and four/five floors above ground level, depending on the street used as the reference level.

The main volumes house the common areas, the bedrooms are located in the transverse volumes, and the central volume houses the communications and utility rooms. This layout is optimal for both daily operations and the possible evacuation of the building in the event of an emergency.
